Senior Alex Rofail hopes to have a strong lacrosse season this year.

What got you interested in lacrosse?

I was really sick of football, with all the hitting, but I still really liked contact sports.  Lacrosse was growing really fast while I was young so I figured I would give it a shot.



What are your team’s expectations for this season?

Everybody thinks we will be really bad, even the people at our school, but this is the best we will ever be and we’re really good this year.  We worked really hard during the off-season.  Every single person really wants to win unlike different years when people were just playing to play.



What are your personal hopes for this season?

I just want to beat Langley and Thomas Jefferson.  I really do not care about any other game.  I have been hurt every time I played Langley, and Thomas Jefferson beat us out of the playoffs in the first round last year.



How does it feel, this being your last year playing lacrosse for South Lakes?

I am kind of nervous about it and I am kind of sad but I also know that there’s a lot more to life than lacrosse.
