QRU? Peter Moran

By: Lily Shtuhl, staff writer

Senior Peter Moran is captain of boys lacrosse and is working to lead his team to a victorious season in the spring.

How have you and your team been preparing for the upcoming season?

We’re getting out, playing together, and trying to establish some team chemistry. Hopefully by the time February rolls around we’ll have a solid team together.

As tryouts approach, what do you look for in a player?

I look for someone who works hard to improve, puts the team first, and ultimately takes care of business when it comes to the game.

You recently had an injury. Tell us a bit about that and how you’ve dealt with it.

I tore my labrum in my shoulder, so I wasn’t able to lift weights for eight months. I go to physical therapy once a week to build strength and stability. It’s been a tough recovery but I’m ready for the season.

How does it feel being the only varsity team member that has been on the team for a full four seasons?

It adds a level of maturity and experience which that extra year gave me. My freshman year was the only year we went to regionals, and it was really sweet to see that, so I’m hoping to recreate that this year.

What team members besides yourself offer the most leadership that you’re really counting on this season?

Alex Rofail, Kyle Savage, and Chris Jennings are all seniors that I’m expecting to assist in leadership. They’re all strong players and I look forward to play with them. They really set an example of what a South Lakes lacrosse player should strive for—skill, patience, good sportsmanship, and an open mind.
