QRU? Robert Simmons

By: Chris Marshall, staff writer

Sophomore Robert Simmons built a computer and is planning on making another one in the near future.

Why did you decide to build a computer?
I decided to build a computer because it’s cheaper and you can get more performance out of it.

How long did it take you to build the computer?
Well to gather all the parts took about a couple of months of research to make sure I was getting the best bang for the buck. When it came down to actually building the computer, it actually took about one day.

How did you determine price-to-performance ratio? What influenced your decisions?

My dad set the budget for the computer. Basically, I wanted to get the best stuff I could get while staying in the price range.

What kind of lessons do you want to take from your first experience building and put towards your second computer?
I am going to create a bigger budget but I will apply the same principle. For the next computer I will go through the same process with a different price range.
