QRU? Sneha Kuchipudi

By: Sarah Wood, staff writer

Sophomore Sneha Kuchipudi participated in the DECA competition in Anaheim, California. She qualified in the top ten along with her partner Brentan Walter.

What was your project?

My project was entrepreneurship innovation and I had to pretty much come up with my own business. I wrote a manual on its startup money, financials, potential reach of the business, what it is, what it does, why it’s unique, and how it aids people.

How did you prepare for your presentation?
My presentation is 20 minutes and I’m trying to convince the judge to invest. The judge poses as a potential investor in my business. I created a script, posters, used props, and practiced it a lot. I worked with Brentan Walter. The first time I presented it was at SLC and then I advanced to go onto ICDC.

What sparked your interest in joining DECA?
I got interested in DECA with the help of my teacher Mr. Walker. If it wasn’t for him, I probably wouldn’t be doing DECA. I take Economics and Personal Finance so I’m eligible to participate in DECA because it’s an extracurricular activity. My teacher also incorporated a few DECA related projects into our curriculum and encouraged me to pursue it. I found out that I enjoyed being in DECA and that it was really fun.
